You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Developing information concerning the mission, programs, and accomplishments of an organization, for dissemination through print, broadcast and social media; Providing basic photography support either in still or video productions; and Developing clear, informative presentations and responses to questions/issues for print or broadcast media and or targeted audiences.

Education: I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree -OR- 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree -OR- LLB or J.D.,. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. NOTE: You must submit copies of your official college transcripts.

Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
To qualify for the GS-11 level:
You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Developing, coordinating, implementing and maintaining public information and community relations programs; Serving as the point of contact for the media and public information inquiries; Identifying opportunities to participate in community activities that enhance the public image of the organization; Providing consultation to program staff on publications matters and formulation of new publications, such as news releases, social media posts; Creating radio and television scripts, organizing personal appearances, designing brochures, pamphlets, and being responsible for their distribution; planning, organizing, developing, implementing, administering, and evaluating a comprehensive electronic and paper publications program; and Initiating public affairs correspondence, preparing information packages, conducting tours and other related tasks for special visitors and dignitaries, organizing select ceremonies, or writing speeches.

Physical Demands: The work is generally sedentary and does not require unusual physical effort. Most of the work is performed in an office setting. Driving a car or pickup truck is periodically required. The work
often requires walking outdoors and travel in light aircraft, helicopters, and off-road vehicles.
Long work days are occasionally required to meet deadlines and resolve specific problems.
Work Environment: Most of the work is performed in an office setting although travel to field sites or other
BLM/government offices is often required. Attendance at meetings at night or on weekends is
sometimes required. Incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in
manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer.
