This position serves as the Risk Management Consultant at the Phoenix Service Unit covering inpatient, ambulatory care, and emergency areas. Incumbent provides advisory services to the Director of Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation Department, Chief, Quality Management Officer, the Service Unit Management Staff, Executive Management Staff and Governing Body. Position is located in Phoenix, AZ.Requirements:

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
OR
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications for GS-11 stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-12 Level: At least one (1) full year of professional nursing specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-11 grade level) such as: Working closely with chiefs and others in planning, designing, integrating, implementing, modifying and administering a Heathcare Risk Management Program, including Administrative Tort Claims, interacting with legal counsel, healthcare error reduction, and facility-wide incident reporting and tracking medical error reporting systems. Monitors Risk Management Program compliance with the Joint Commission Standards, CMS and other regulatory agency requirements. Develops strategies to disseminate "lessons learned" to appropriate staff throughout the organization. Facilitates, coordinates, directs and leads multidisciplinary teams and groups addressing the investigation of healthcare issues, standard of care reviews, sentinel events and development of corrective action plans.
