Google Cloud Platform Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY:

We are looking for a candidate with a proven background defining cloud infrastructure and implementing cloud engineering solutions with a goal towards automation and security first approach. As the Cloud Engineer, you will build/deploy cloud infrastructure components in hybrid cloud environment including primarily Google Cloud Platform and possibly Azure. In this role, you will lead implementing solutions with a process-driven view, as well as scheduled maintenance and/or updates to existing structures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cloud Engineer role will deliver on the following responsibilities:

• Implementation of cloud-based infrastructure with automation and security first approach.
• Build life cycle automation for various public cloud services using Terraform and other Infrastructure as code tools Ansible etc.
• Vulnerability management with strict SLA is a massive focus here at the bank, establish vulnerability management process, scalable automation to constantly keep prod and non-prod environments safe/secured.
• Produced excellent documentation.
• Follow various KPI for cloud Infrastructure and effectively communicate to leadership team
• Train junior engineers in the team and mentor them
• OnDemand Production support rotation basis

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Minimum Required Experience:

• Bachelor s degree or equivalent, Masters preferred in Computer Science.
• Cloud Infrastructure and security - 5 years

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform CloudFunction, GKE, BigQuery, CloudSQL, IAM, Looker, GCS, Firebaser etc is much desired.
• Terraform experience building cloud Infrastructure, ability to write modules, follow SMBC best practices, state files management etc Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals.
• Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals (Linux Inside Azure).
• Infrastructure security scan tools understanding (e.g. basic knowledge of Security Command Center) is good to have.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Team player, ability to work within team and be independent.
• Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to communicate clearly.
• Innovator and one who keeps tabs on various industry trends, cloud native advances and bring to team(s) attention for POC, Implementation.
